POSITION: Nutrition Advocate
FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Residential Director, the Nutrition Advocate will provide meal service to the emergency and transitional shelter residents. Will be responsible for developing healthy recipes, maintaining proper food sanitation practices, maintaining edible garden, and coordinating the cleaning maintenance of the kitchen and dining areas. May also provide cooking classes, education on healthy eating, meal planning and food sanitation as needed.
HOURS: Full Time – 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of 2 years related experience in the food service industry and/or equivalent is necessary. The ability to work independently and make decision is needed. Good organizational and maintenance skills, communication skills, and customer service skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients who may be assisting with the meal prep. High work ethic and discretion is mandatory. Computer literate. Valid California driver’s license and insurance required.
