Prevention Education Program

Relationships are at the core of our everyday lives, and we firmly believe that through outreach and education efforts we can continue to provide resources and inform our community about healthy relationships.

2023 L. E. A. D. youth training

Our prevention department works to reduce that number by teaching from a comprehensive curriculum based on healthy emotional management and safe relationship practices for students of all grade levels.

Youth Community Education

Our team of trained Prevention Educators hosts a wellness engagement program where participants are encouraged to learn and discuss a variety of engaging topics, once every week, for 6-weeks. Below are some of the topics that our prevention department is trained to speak on.  Services are available for schools and universities.

We offer one-time presentations for more in-depth conversations about domestic violence and teen dating violence. Services are available for schools, universities, domestic violence in the workplace training, non-profit community partners, spiritual & religious organizations, and more.

Adult Community Education

The Youth Advisory Committee (Y. A.C.), is a volunteer program for youth ages 13-20. The program focuses on education around social change and how they can promote emotional wellness on their school campuses. Youth Advisory Committee members are supported in hosting student-led circles and events emphasizing healthy conflict resolution skills, safe relationship dynamics, mental wellness, and more.

“As a teenager in California it’s difficult to believe that I could actually have a political impact. Engaging with legislators about the importance of prevention was incredibly rewarding. Working with House of Ruth was such an amazing experience. I’ll forever be grateful for this program for enhancing my passion to help others enduring abuse." - Former Y.A.C. member
