Volunteers and interns are an essential part of our agency. If you are passionate about supporting survivors and ending domestic violence, we would love to have you as a part of our team.  

Get Involved

To volunteer or intern with House of Ruth, all individuals must attend our California mandated 40-Hour Domestic Violence Advocate Training.  We offer this training twice a year; once in the spring and once again in the fall. 

Our volunteer opportunities include:

  • Shelter Advocate’s Office

  • Peer Mentorship Program 

  • Prevention and Community Education  

  • Presentations 

  • Community Fairs 

  • Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) Assistance 

  • Court Accompaniment 

  • Transportation for Clients

  • Clerical and Administrative Assistance 

  • Sorting Donations 

Internship opportunities include:
